Article Abstract:
The single-crystal X-ray structure of B[a.sub.2]B[i.sub.24]M[o.sub.10][O.sub.68] and the substitution effect of La and Ba at the noncolumnar site in B[i.sub.26]M[o.sub.10][O.sub.69) in the photocatalytic degradation is reported. All the catalysts show specificity toward nitro substituent at the para position in the aromatic ring.

Conjugated polymers for photocatalysis

The photocatalytic properties of conjugated polymers poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and poly-(2-methoxy-5-)2'-ethylhexyloxy-1,4-phenylene vinylene (MEH-PPV) which show higher degradation rates than commercial titania (Degussa P-25) is described.

The solid-state method uses Li2CO3 and M2O5 (M=Nb, Ta) in stoichiometric quantities in order to synthesize two new compounds LiBi4Nb3O14 and LiBi4Ta3O14. These compounds demonstrate the specific dyes and phenolic compounds effectively.
